Riverbend Behavioral Health is pleased to announce that a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held to celebrate the Fall 2018 opening of their residential services for children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Designed specifically for those ages 6 to 21 on the autism spectrum, Riverbend’s residential services will be available for individuals who are challenged by their autism to assist in meeting their unique needs. Our goal is to be able to provide both the individuals and their families the tools they need to be able to transition back into their less restrictive or home environment. Intensive behavioral programming (based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis), medical interventions, and a highly structured schedule of group and individual activities are a critical part of the patient’s treatment. In addition, educational services as well as life skills training will be available to build independence and daily competencies for the next phase in their development.
“Indiana, like other states across the country, is experiencing an increase in the number of children on the autism spectrum,” says Joshua Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Riverbend. “Riverbend’s residential services will be designed to help those children and their families receive the treatment and assistance that they need and have been unable to find elsewhere.”
To celebrate the fall opening of Riverbend’s residential services, an Ice Cream Social-themed Open House and Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 1 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Ice cream sundaes and other refreshments will be served followed by tours of the new residential services area. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 30.
